Escape to Dundee Beach

Last weekend, my husband Steve and I, did our usual escape to Dundee Beach.   We are fortunate enough to own a two acre property there, not beach front, but not too far away from the beach.  Dundee Beach is located about 90 minutes south of Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia.  This is my place to recharge my batteries, somewhere I don’t have to worry about the day to day stuff around the house.  My piece of paradise.

Where is your paradise

Everyone needs a paradise, a place where they just love to be.  You need this to take some time out.  Life is busy in the new Millennium, the pace is phenomenal.  If you have a family and both parents work, it can be so draining.  You owe it to yourself and your family to take a break - even if its only for the weekend, and there’s plenty of places you can visit or stay - the beach, the bush, the mountains, wherever!

Give yourself a break

It’s ok to take time out, in fact it’s must.  You need to be able to chill out for a couple of days, and totally disconnect yourself from “life”.  I love to go camping and fishing - this relaxes me 100%.  I don’t think about my housework, all the stuff I need to learn, the bills and all the mundane life stuff that is constantly in my face.

At our block at Dundee Beach, we don’t have a dwelling - just a camp site.  We have constructed a small shed which is more of an ablution block.   Last visit, we concreted a small patch of the dirt floor, so we could put an old fridge in there.   Well this is just heaven - no more rummaging around in an esky to find what we are looking for.

Next stage is to build a cupboard, then we can do away with the crates and boxes that are currently holding our gear.  We are fortunate enough to have power to our block.  Camping with power is pure bliss, we can run a fan and the fridge.  We have lighting and I can use my laptop too. Last year we got mobile phone and internet access - some might say this is not  a positive, but I like to be connected to my beloved internet, so for me it’s a big plus.

So, as I mentioned earlier, this is my escape from the “madness” that life can be.  It relaxes the mind and gives my brain a bit of chill time, and I really need it to continue on my upward journey to successful mindpower.

Onwards and Upwards,

Trixie
